Leah takes us on a journey from her childhood, through the joy of motherhood, and then the tragic loss of her daughter Rehteah. She asks us ......what are the conversations we need to have as men and women, everywhere? Conversations regarding internet shaming, rape, and sexualized violence. ...and its impact spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Leah is an award winning change maker, compassionate global steward who speaks from the heart about her daughter’s rape and subsequent suicide. She has appeared in news articles all over the world, been featured in documentaries, appeared on the Dr Phil show and has had personal meetings with heads of state. She continues to honour Rehtaeh by educating and keeping the conversation moving about sexualized violence, cyber-harassment and mental health. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx
